Anyone that has been around the Worcester Music Scene knows about Thursdays at The Dive Bar. Starting around 9pm, The Dive Bar turns into the place to be for Thursday night Music. One June 11th, The Dive Bar will be celebrating it’s 100th episode, and to help celebrate the occasion Alec, Dive Bar owner, will be tapping a special cask of Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA.
The band is a 8 piece band playing funk music from Stevie Wonder, Al Green, The Meters and James Brown made up by:
- Brooks Milgate – Hammond Organ
- Craig Rawding – Vocals, Harmonica
- Steve Lefabvre – Trumpet
- Brian Thomas – Trombone
- Brian Kearsley – Saxaphone
- John Vaughn – Bass
- Al Vaudreuil – Guitar
- Duncan Arsenault – Drums
Come, enjoy the music, enjoy grilling outside on the patio (beer garden), enjoy drinking craft beer, and also be there for the grand opening of Punky’s Haberdash!!!!! (a 1954 vintage Bellwood Aloha trailer that has been transformed into a hip and mobile Vintage Boutique).
Lots to see, hear, and do. Make sure it is part of your Thursday night plans.
Looking for a Worcester Bar that serves more than the normal beers? There is only so much Miller Light, Coors Light, and Bud Light that one can drink. That’s why Worcester is lucky to have both Armsby Abbey and Dive Bar. While each are perfect for whatever mood you may be in—Pub style elegancy for beer and food at the Abbey or a more underground, live music, feel at Dive Bar.
On March 26th, 20 selected bars around the country will be simultanesouly tapping Johnny Cask and the first 75 people will receive a special Dogfish Head pint glass for their collections at home.

Go into a Worcester Bar or Club and chances are you will find a DJ or band on any given day of the week—from places like Nick’s, Dive Bar, Ralph’s Diner, Lucky Dog, Jose Murphy’s, Cavo D’Oro, or even Irish Times you’ll be able to enjoy a drink and listen to a band’s set or get down to what a DJ is spinning. One thing that many Worcesterites have been looking for is a place somewhere in the middle, where dancing is more formalized and seen as an Art—often found as the art of Salsa.
On Monday’s and Tuesdays, at 6:15pm, Salsa Storm teaches you Salsa—from basic footwork to partnering, spins, patterns and combinations. While it is a great way to get closer with your partner, it is also a great way to meet someone new. This is the perfect opportunity to have some fun without having to have any experience.
