With Worcester’s Best Chef quickly approaching, we were thrilled to not only hear that Michael Giletto—as seen on Iron Chef America, Chopped, Ultimate Recipe Showdown and The Tyra Banks Show—but also Kiss 108/NECN’s TV Diner’s Billy Costa will be playing prominent roles at this years event.

Tickets are going very fast and can be purchased on the Worcester’s Best Chef web site for a nominal fee. WorcesterScene.com, as media sponsor, will also be giving out free tickets to the event to random people on our e-mail list! To be considered, please sign up for our list here: SceneAlerts.

Sleep Alive filmed their music video, Put It On My Tab, at Union Station in Worcester.

Worcester has had some great claim to fame in the music scene—both mainstream and underground—over the past century. With some great music venues like Lucky Dog, Tammany Hall, and Palladium we’ve seen some great bands come to Worcester and ignite the stage. The music video below, found by our friends at Worcesterite.com and featured on WorcesterScene.com’s Main Stage for November, is a great use of Worcester’s iconic Union Station (home to Luciano’s) combining it with Worcester’s talent—both musically and cinematographically.

Well, you may not get wet, but you will be entertained at the Blackstone CanalFest on November 1st.

Canalfest ‘08 will take the form of a classic street festival, featuring vendors of all sorts; horse-drawn wagon tours of the neighborhood; food concessions from neighborhood restaurants; musicians, dancers and street performers; special children’s activities; and a huge cash raffle.  It will also include the popular 75 foot, water-filled replica of the Blackstone Canal itself, complete with kayak rides and waterfront table seating.

The festival will run from 11 am to 5 pm., and several thousand visitors are expected.

This is the perfect excuse to get out and enjoy the city!
