Michael Buble on his album "It's Time"

WorcesterScene is the first to break the news that Michael Bublé is scheduled to give a night’s performance at Worcester’s DCU Center. A friend inside Reprise Records has confirmed that March 19th, 2009, Mr. Bublé will be visiting the DCU Center for his Crazy Love, US tour. The DCU Center is expected to announce this show in December with tickets going on sale December 4, 2009.

The DCU Center which opened first in 1982, has a rich history of hosting big bands and sports teams, including being the home for Worcester Sharks (AHL). The DCU Center expanded in 1997 with a state of the art convention center with panoramic views of the city of Worcester. Today, the DCU center has been undergoing other major renovations to improve technical workings, concourse, concessions, and creating suites and club seats. The DCU Center currently seats under 15,000 which makes it an intimate setting.

Michael Bublé, known for his Sinatra like sound, has won a Grammy and several Juno Awards. From Canada, Bublé broke into the music scene in 2000 after being discovered performing at a business party—his first album, self-titled, was debuted three years later. Since then, Bublé has released four albums and has started his Crazy Love tour in Europe.

Grille 57 on Highland Street has recently made a huge commitment to bring great musical, comedy and dance entertainment to the city of Worcester. In the past weeks, Grille 57 has hosted Providence music act Twyce (60’s and 70’s soul and R&B) and Tony Funches (former lead singer of the Platter’s). This Saturday evening Grille 57 is proud to present Joey Canzano – New England’s Man of Many Voices. Canzano brings his unique style to Worcester singing classics from Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Tom Jones, Dean Martin and many more. Full of endless energy and showmanship, Canzano’s act is so authentic if you closed your eyes, you’d swear you were listening to the originals, but don’t take our word for it, go see the show for yourself.

Which brings me to the larger point of the blog this week. Grille 57 is bringing great entertainment into the city. While some of it tends to appeal to a slightly older crowd, who doesn’t love Sinatra or Elvis? And, coming soon will be world class comedy acts, salsa dancing and other entertainment to please all ages. So come early, grab a great meal, then order a drink and stay for the show. You won’t be disappointed!
